Last week, a new documentary called Walk With Me
premiered at the South by Southwest Conference in Austin, Texas. Narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch, Walk With Me
tells the story of a monastic community learning to practice the art of mindfulness with Zen Buddhist master Thich Nhat Hanh. Filmed over three years, in their monastery in rural France and on the road in America, this film showcases a community grappling with existential questions as well as capturing the everyday routine of monastic life. Members of the community have given up all their possessions and signed up to a life of chastity – all in pursuit of a deeper connection to themselves and the world around them. According to the directors, the film also immerses the audience in nature, in an attempt to shine a spotlight on the “poetry of the present moment.” We can’t wait for the wider release of this!
